Wild Earth Operational Costs
Wild Earth does not receive any funding from the Department of Education or other governmental bodies and relies on community funding awards, generous donations and parent/community support to operate. We are active in our approach to fundraising and will continue to research and pursue alternative funding streams to keep costs to families as low as possible.
Transparency and fairness are central to all financial operations.
Per child, the cost to operate Wild Earth is €200/week. This figure includes staff salaries, infrastructure, site maintenance and more. In an effort to remain accessible and with funding from generous donors and organisations,
Wild Earth will subsidise 80% - 100% of costs per family.
Voluntary Contributions
While Wild Earth is a free service, we invite families to make a Voluntary contribution in the amount of €10/day to help us cover a portion of materials and supplies requested and used by the children and young people.
Contributions and Subsidised Cost Breakdown
Costs per child/week
Total Cost: €200
Cost covered by voluntary family contributions* per week
20% = €40 (€10/day)
Remaining cost, subsidised by Wild Earth per week
80% = €160
*If you are able to pay more than €10/day and would like to support Wild Earth in this way, please get in touch with us and let us know what you can offer. Thank you.
For those unable to cover the voluntary contributions for supplies at €10/day, we will work with you to ensure that your family can access Wild Earth.

Wild Earth wishes to extend a big "go raibh maith agat" to the generous organisations who, through their funding opportunities, allow us to remain accessible to the families in our community.
Parental/Community Support
Wild Earth is a vibrant community that–to be sustainable–requires all members (young people and parents/adults) to offer support in ways that highlight their strengths. Many hands make for light work. Support can look like any of the following:
- Facilitating clubs, activities or workshops (skill-sharing)
- Hosting events
- Providing coverage if/when needed
- Doing the weekly washing
- Helping to maintain the site/structures
- Supplying materials/donating items
- Attending parent evenings and fundraisers
- Facilitating carpooling with other families
- Financial contributions
